An interesting fellow...

Funny how things go, I was on my way to get a new mail key cut, when I ended up meeting an Artistic man outside a local art gallery. He was waiting to talk with the owner who was out, so he asked me about a good place to eat. I suggested a local Organic store/eatery, I went along and had a cup of tea, he was quite taken by the place. It goes to show that a lot of different people are looking for healthy alternatives to fast food when one looks at the people you see in such a place....
As I get older the more I find I'm looking for changes in my life... work changes where do I want be 5 years from now? healthy choices of food and supplements. What about freedom? Time freedom, financial freedom...more to come

Scour Off and the dreaded glass oven door (inside)

I've used Scour Off each time I clean my oven oven the past 20+ years (used to be called Shaklee At-Ease), but its been at least a year and 3 turkey dinners and several roasts plus lots of chicken and chips and a few pies plus baked potatoes and yams that burn on to the surface because they cook faster and ooze out onto the bottom of the oven... and melted cheese from Taco's. Anyway, cleaning the oven has been a long time coming. I've made enough excuses. Time to clean the inside of the glass door of the oven. I can't run the Self-Clean until the window and frame are clean (learned that the hard way too).

When I finished cleaning I ran the Self-Clean 4 hour cycle. Next Turkey Dinner - no smoke from the oven.

One thing that I find important is that Shaklee's Scour Off has no odor, produces no fumes, leaves no residue, rinses clear and leaves no film. It does not make eyes water when used. It does not make the nose stuff up. It just does the job. I used Basic H (in spay bottle) to rinse and polish the glass door when I was finished. Rinsed out my scrubber, dish cloth and - job over.

It is as bad as it looks - sticky, thick, solid, burned on
Sprayed glass with Basic H (10 drops in a 1 Litre spray bottle), then put some Scour Off paste on my scrub pad - 2 minutes of hard scrubbing and I can see glass again.

Kept damping the surface with Basic H Spray and and repeatedly used the Scour Off Paste on my scrubber. Half an hour and a lot of scrubbing I am beginning to see the end...
Finished. Took about an hour. Next time - sooner.

Scour Off - Cleaning my sink

Scour Off
(notes taken from the Shaklee web page)

Scour Off™ Heavy Duty Paste

Size: 9 oz.
Here’s an exclusive scouring cleanser that sets a new standard. It’s a paste, so it doesn’t form dust clouds. It cleans stuck-on messes. It even cleans burnt-on food in your oven. And it doesn’t burn off your nose hairs in the process.
The directions on the web site for using Scour Off are:
  • Natural ingredients remove the toughest dried-on splatters and spills, burned-on grease, baked-on food, and sticky messes without hazardous chemicals or toxic fumes.
  • Scour Off is made from natural mineral abrasives and biodegradable cleaning agents. It does not contain chlorine, bleach, or dye.
  • Scour Off gently removes stains other cleansers can't and is great for cleaning tubs, ovens, sinks, and tiles.
  • It will even remove rust, and is great for cleaning these surfaces: copper, grout, cement, ceramic, and imitation marble.
  • Wide-mouth jar makes it easy to use.
So, I needed to clean my sink. Got out the Scour Off, a sponge, water and got to work. A little goes a long way.

Sink needs some shine - started with Scour off and a sponge pad
Got shine ! Took the length of boiling the kettle for tea.

Mental Acuity Complex

This is my new favorite for keeping my mind in shape. The notes below come from the Shaklee web site.

Mental Acuity Complex teams Ginkgo biloba with hawthorn, bilberry, and rosemary – herbs that have protective properties – to help maintain such normal cognitive functions as memory and decision making.

Contains a standardized extract of Ginkgo biloba leaf (24% flavone glycosides, 6% terpene lactones)
Three capsules provide 120 mg of ginkgo
In recent studies conducted with older test subjects, ginkgo was shown to help maintain normal cognitive functions, such as memory and decision making
It’s believed that Ginkgo biloba extract improves blood circulation to all areas of the body, including the brain, thereby increasing mental acuity and reducing absentmindedness
Also contains hawthorn, bilberry, and rosemary: important herbs with protective properties

Breakfast, Snacks, Lunch and Coffee Break

My Shaklee supported Meals:

This is my core breakfast - Cinch mixed with milk or soy milk,  and yogurt with blueberries and a banana in a blender. I take Vivix and one day's supply of Vitalizer (vitamins) at this time. When I have to leave at 4:30 for work, I have found that this lasts me until 9:30 coffee break. I usually eat a Cinch Snack Bar and some fruit, maybe some nuts and that does me until lunch at 12:30. Then I'll have some chopped up vegetables and yogurt/sour cream and spices dip that I make, and a piece of fruit. If I'm still hungry I'll have half a Cinch Meal Replacement bar. For afternoon coffee I'll have some Cinch Tea, an Energy Chew, and the rest of the bar and a piece of fruit.
My favorite - Cinch Vanilla

Upfront - I use Shaklee Health and Home Products

SHAKLEE has been in the news frequently - this link gives an overview if you want to read more right away.

I've been using Shaklee products for over 20 years. Like many in my age group I had lapsed in looking after my own health but when I got to my 50's the wakeup call came and I am now paying attention. I have a daughter with a wonderful grandson and want to see him grow up.

To help me become fit and healthy I've added daily walks and started using Cinch products to help me loose weight. My goal is to get rid of my stomach fat. I also decided to become an active Shaklee Distributor, not just a user of the health and home products. To help me I joined the Freedom Project and have been learning to use my computer to build my business.

Yes, Shaklee is a multi-level business. I signed up through my parents more than 20 years ago and used the vitamins and some cleaning products, mostly Basic H, over the years. Since moving to the coast this summer and staying with my Dad, a 30+ year Shaklee Director, and going to Shaklee sponsored presentations about new products and opportunities available I know that I can build a business for myself based on the Shaklee products.

If you want to become a Shaklee User or Shaklee Distributor I would be pleased to sign you on and give you support in setting up your own business. Click on Rob's Shaklee Web Page and you can sign up through there.

You can learn about using your computer at home to start and run business from my  Freedom Project web page by following the links there. Click here for Freedom Project Home Page.

Over time I will be discussing and showcasing Shaklee products; use in the home, nutritional use. As well I will 'show and tell' how I am personally using the various cleaning products to take care of my car, clean the house, do the laundry, helping keep my home clean and family healthy using 'green' products.
